This is a cute and child-friendly version of the real-life story of Dewey Readmore Books. To read Dewey’s full story, check out Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. This book tells the story of how Dewey became the famous library cat he is today.

I like cats. Not as much as dogs, but cats are special in their own way. I like the sounds they make. The little meows and purrs are so sweet. I like how they walk and jump around without making a sound. And their little claws are so sharp. One time, I held a little kitten in my hands, and his little claws gripped my shirt.
I’ve seen cats in small bookstores before, and they are always so sweet. Here is a sweet picture of Dewey and his owner and librarian, Vicki Myron.
