It’s time for a field trip! Board the yellow time travel bus and blast into the Jurassic past.
Volcanoes smolder. Towering dinosaurs munch leaves from the trees. And this class is going to see them up close—maybe way too close!
When a rascally kepodactylus snatches a student’s lunch box, the student gives chase and gets it back, but becomes separated from their class. They decide to eat their lunch while waiting to be rescued and end up sharing it with friendly dinosaurs.
I was not expecting John Hare to write another Field Trip Adventure!
In my reviews of the first three books, I was vague about what kind of creature the kid befriends to not ruin the surprise. But given the title of this book, the creatures the kid meets are obviously dinosaurs. I love how colorful and expressive the dinosaurs are.
This is the first time in the series that we’ve been able to see the students’ faces and expressions. In the other book, their heads have always been covered up.
Sidenote: The spaceship bus, submarine bus, and school bus helicopter make a cameo.
I’m hoping John Hare will write a fifth book. Maybe a field trip to the jungle, or they could shrink down in a microscopic bus vehicle.
