Sally Ride was the first American female astronaut on the Space Shuttle Challenger.
She explored the universe of possibilities.
Sally Ride is the second astronaut to be featured in this series. The first was Neil Armstrong.
Sally Ride was a wild child. She would have been friends with Amelia Earhart, who also had a need for speed.
I liked how so many people in her life encouraged her passion for science: her family, teachers, and herself. I can relate to this. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my parents’ encouragement.
Sally Ride was featured in the Xavier Riddle and the Secret Movie: I Am Madam President. In the movie, Yadina, who dreams of one day being president, realizes all the presidents were men. She questions if she can still be president, even though it is something no girl has done yet. The trio visit the Secret Museum, where a five-part star is shown to them. They travel to different periods in time, where they meet women who are attempting to do something that has never been done before.
Yadina learns to do something that’s never been done before, you must . . .
. . . go step by step like Jackie Joyner-Kersee
. . . be prepared like Amelia Earhart
. . . never give up like Junko Tabei
. . . work hard like Sally Ride
And believe in yourself!
This movie gave me chills. It’s so sweet and inspiring!
