Stephen Hawking was a groundbreaking scientist and a disability advocate.
He defied boundaries.
I was thrilled when I found out Brad Meltzer was going to write about Stephen Hawking. I love this guy! He played himself in multiple episodes of The Big Bang Theory, and I like to believe he is as funny in real life as he is in the show. He has also been featured on The Simpsons, Futurama, and Star Trek.
Christopher Eliopoulos’s depiction of Stephen Hawking is adorable. I love how his little legs aren’t resting on the wheelchair’s foothold. They’re just sticking straight out.
At 21 years old, he was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and told he had two and a half years to live. He ended up living another 55 years. He lived his life to the fullest and accomplished so much. I wish Stephen Hawking were still alive so he could see this book. I know he’d have something inspiring and humorous to say about it.
I hope Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum will have an episode featuring Stephen Hawking someday.
As a bonus, here are a few YouTube clips of Stephen Hawking starring in The Big Bang Theory and Star Trek.
